User Guide for Steel Plate Weight Calculator
Supported Calculation Types:
- Rectangular steel plate (Length × Width × Thickness)
- Square steel plate
- Round steel / Circular plate (Diameter & Radius)
- Material options: Carbon steel, Stainless steel, Aluminum, Copper and more (with different density)
Weight Calculation Formula:
Weight (kg) = Volume (m³) × Density (kg/m³)
Standard steel density: 7850 kg/m³ (equal to 7.85 g/cm³)
Formula for Rectangular Steel Plate:
Weight (kg) = Length (m) × Width (m) × Thickness (m) × 7850
Common Metal Material Density Reference:
| Material | Density (g/cm³) | Density (kg/m³) |
|---|---|---|
| Carbon Steel | 7.85 | 7850 |
| Stainless Steel | 7.93 | 7930 |
| Aluminum | 2.70 | 2700 |
| Copper | 8.96 | 8960 |
Application Scenarios:
- Steel sales & quick quotation
- Mechanical machining & material planning
- Engineering manufacturing & cost accounting
- Logistics & transportation weight estimation
- Architectural design & structural calculation
- Procurement budget & material cost estimation
Notes & Reminders:
- The result is theoretical weight; slight deviation may exist in actual weight
- Density may vary slightly among different batches of materials
- Please keep units consistent to avoid calculation errors
- For irregular shaped plates, calculate separately and sum up the total weight
